The purpose of the Guild is to encourage nurses and health care professionals in their desire, and efforts to experience a deeper spiritual presence in their lives, and to support others within the Christian community. The Guild encourages each Chapter and all the members to fulfill the goals of the organization in four ways.

SERVICE

Service is achieved through the offering of nursing scholarships, donations of both time and money to Christian outreach organizations, donations of Easter baskets, and Easter dinners to the needy.

FELLOWSHIP

Fellowship amongst the Chapter's members is an essential part in the life of a Chapter. At every Chapter meeting there is a time set aside for sharing cares and concerns, for supporting one another.

WORSHIP

At the beginning of each Chapter's meeting, and all national meetings, a worship service is conducted by the Chaplain or a Chapter member. The celebration of God's word through worship is an integral part of the life of the member's of the Guild. Each year, on June 11th, Chapter members gather to celebrate the Feast of Saint Barnabas. This celebration includes a worship service, followed by a "feast" and time for fellowship.

EDUCATION

The educational goal of the Guild is achieved in a number of ways. Some chapters invite guest speakers to regularly scheduled meetings to address a topic of interest. Chapters offer an annual one day spiritual retreat with a guest speaker. And some Chapter members provide educational programs to local congregations, or service organizations.
