June 2006 This past Friday we lost to God's glory, the Rev. Canon Clinton R. Jones, our beloved leader and guide of the Guild of St. Barnabas for Nurses & Allied Healthcare Professionals for several decades; and in our hearts, forever. A celebration of Clinton's life and ministry, took place on Wednesday, June 7th, at Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford, CT where Clinton served with such grace and distinction. Everyone who knew Clinton was touched by the loveliness of his spirit, his generosity towards and love for the guild, and above all, his love for all people that flowed from the heart of a man utterly given over to Christ's love. A more delightful and gracious man is beyond imagination. Canon Jones epitomized the grace of God incarnate in so many special ways. His servant heart was always willing to help others in their time of need. His wisdom about life and the things that really matter, made him beloved by all. His unpretentious and gentle ways made everyone feel like they were among his closest friends. Somehow, when you spent time in Clinton's presence, the world just seemed to be a better place. I am sure that Clinton heard those marvelous words when he passed from this world into light triumphant: "Well done thou good and faithful servant." May we all hold up in our prayers, Kenny and Carol, and the membership of the Hartford chapter, who have lost their best friend, their father in God, and a man who will never be replaced in our hearts. May we each seek to honor Clinton, by emulating the way he lived his life and gave himself to us, and to the Lord he so loved and served.
