Talk to others
about the possibility of starting a Chapter in your area. You are not
alone. There are probably many peers and associates in your work place,
in related health care fields, and in your congregation who would be interested
in the support this organization can provide.
Remember you do not have to be a nurse to belong to the Guild. Doctors,
Technicians, Aides, Physical and Occupational Therapists, and all others
who are a part of the health care community are welcome.
Pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance in gathering those interested in
the mission and purposes of the Guild.
Talk to members of the Clergy who may also be interested.
If there is sufficient interest in starting a local Chapter, one or more
of our National Officers will come visit and lead your group in a one
day retreat to discuss the Guild…to enlighten, encourage, and guide you
in the process of starting a Chapter.
Our
current Chapters are located in:
National
Organization
There is a National
Guild Organization with an elected executive board consisting of a President,
Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
The National Chaplain directs the spiritual vision and oversight
of the Guild.
Each Chapter elects a local executive board and invites a local
member of the clergy of any denomination to act as Chapter Chaplain.
The National organization publishes a newsletter twice a year to keep
members from across the country informed about each Chapter's activities.
The Guild of Saint Barnabas for Nurses & Allied Healthcare Professionals
holds a Biennial National Convention, which is hosted every two years
by one of the local Chapters. The official business of the Guild is conducted
over this three day, two-night convention.
