Dear Cathedral Congregations,

Our dearest Cathedral Intern, Helena Martin, concludes her time with us this coming Sunday, May 3, 2020. Helena has been a blessing to our community.

It is unfortunate that we are not able to bid her farewell in person. I pray that we are given an opportunity to do so in the future.

Please join me in thanking Helena and giving thanks to God for her ministry among us. Helena will be representing God's people during our online worship this Sunday at our service in English at 10:00 a.m. and our service in Spanish at 11:00 a.m.

With gratitude,

Lina+

The Very Rev. Miguelina Howell, Cathedral Dean

Dear Congregations of Christ Church Cathedral,

It’s hard to believe it’s time to say goodbye. Since I joined you in September, I‘ve learned so much from you all. Thank you for making me feel welcome in your community.

From the Hip Hop Mass, to Homecoming Sunday (where my mom and siblings attended their first bilingual service), to Advent and Christmas, all the way to Morning Prayer over Zoom this spring — I’ve loved it all. I will miss the beautiful music, the warm and delicious hospitality, and the meaningful outreach ministries of the Cathedral. Especially at Church by the Pond and Church Street Eats, you truly embody Jesus’ teaching to care for one another as we would for him: “Whatever you did for one of the least of my siblings, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). Most of all, I will miss worshiping and spending time with all of you.

I imagined our farewell being a lot less about Zoom and a lot more about cake and coffee! Thank you again for your warm welcome. I can’t wait to see all the ways you will continue to live into God’s Mission.

Faithfully,

Helena Martin
