On the five Thursdays in March from 6:30-8:00 pm, we will join three other Episcopal parishes in a Book Study of Beating Guns: Hope for People who are Weary of Violence. A Zoom link will be available soon. [Where?]
Authors Shane Claiborne & Michael Martin, inspired by the Biblical image of beating our swords into plowshares, believe that the current situation in our country where we experience more than 105 gun deaths daily - including homicide, suicide, and accidental deaths - can be changed. Their book considers this violence to be one of the most significant moral issues of our time and one in which all of us need to be part of the solution. This is not a plea for gun control, but another approach based upon story-telling which invites us all to a change of heart through deep listening. All are welcome to join in this Lenten Series.
